If you have set up an External ID and copied the external URL, but clicking the link does not create a response, the most common cause is that Auto Create Response has not been enabled. This checkbox is required for external links to work. It is what tells the system to generate a new response each time the link is clicked.
To enable it:
- Navigate to Assessment Settings.
- Tick the Auto Create Response checkbox.
- Click Save.
Once Auto Create Response is enabled, your existing external URL will start creating responses immediately. You do not need to regenerate or re-copy it.
