You can configure Brilliant Assessments to automatically reassess respondents at a regular interval, for example every 90 days, every 6 months, or once a year. The system creates the next iteration on the schedule you set and sends invitations to the respondents.
The schedule is configured on the subsequent Cohort Iteration record (not the first iteration), via Assessment Settings > Cohort tab > Cohort Iterations.
Steps
- Open Assessment Settings > Cohort tab > Cohort Iterations.
- Make sure you have at least two iteration records configured: a first iteration (no schedule needed) and a subsequent iteration where the schedule lives. Click Add Cohort Iteration if you need to add the subsequent one.
-
Edit the subsequent iteration record and complete the following fields:
-
Days From Previous Iteration: the number of days until the next iteration is generated. Enter
90for a quarterly reassessment,180for a half-yearly one,365for annual, and so on. - Date Rule: controls what the countdown starts from. Choose Previous Iteration Creation Date (countdown from when the previous iteration was created) or Completion Date (countdown from when the respondent completed the previous iteration).
- Respondent Generation Option: controls how respondents are handled for the new iteration (carried over, re-specified, or copied for updating). See What is the difference between the Respondent Generation Options for follow-up iterations? for full details on the four options.
- Default Days to Completion: sets the completion date for the new iteration, which in turn controls reminder timing.
-
Days From Previous Iteration: the number of days until the next iteration is generated. Enter
- Click Save.
For an iteration that should keep repeating indefinitely (for example, an ongoing pulse-style assessment), set Iteration Order to Repeating instead of a fixed sequence number.
What happens next
On the scheduled day, the system will:
- Create the new iteration cohort automatically.
- Generate respondents according to your Respondent Generation Option (carrying over previous respondents, inviting them fresh, or other behavior depending on the option).
- Send the relevant Cohort Initiation or Welcome emails so respondents can start the new iteration.
For full details on iteration setup, see Setting Up Assessment Iterations.
