You can show or hide a question, section, or subsection based on how the respondent answered an earlier question, using Conditions.
Where to configure conditions depends on what you are making conditional:
- For a question: Open the Question dialog and go to the Conditions tab.
- For a section or subsection: Open the Section or Subsection dialog and go to the Options tab.
If no conditions are set on an item, it will always appear.
AND vs OR logic
- AND (all conditions must match): Add up to 5 answers within a single condition record. The item only appears if all of those answers were selected.
- OR (any condition can match): Click Add New to add more condition records. The item appears if any of the condition records is satisfied.
You can combine both. For example, a question can appear when Answer A and Answer B are selected, or when Answer A and Answer C are selected.
Tip: If you make entire sections or subsections conditional, you may also want to make parts of your report conditional, so empty sections do not produce blank pages or zero scores. See Conditional Parts of the Report for the merge string approach.
