Why does my seeded benchmark upload fail?

If a seeded benchmark file does not upload, or the template cannot be downloaded, review the following in order.

• The template will not download. The classifier is not linked to anything yet. Link it to a question, a calculation or the assessment, then edit the classifier and download the template again.
• The message says a section, subsection or theme is "not known", for example Row 2 Section Customer not known. The name in the file does not match the linked assessment. Check the spelling against the assessment, or download a fresh template and copy the names from it.
• The names match, but rows are still "not known". Check whether the classifier is linked to more than one assessment. The upload is checked against every linked assessment, so all of them must have the same section, subsection and theme names. If they differ, create a separate seeded classifier for each assessment.
• The Classifier Name does not match. Column A must match the Classifier Name exactly.
• The file is not a CSV. Save the file as CSV (Comma delimited) before uploading.
• A Benchmark Answer contains a comma. The file is a CSV, so a comma inside a value splits it into two columns and the row no longer lines up. Benchmark Answer values cannot contain commas. Change the answer text, or the text the calculation returns, so that it does not use a comma, and use the same text in the file.

The file uploads, but the benchmark does not show

• A Benchmark Answer does not match. Benchmark Answer values must match the answer text, or the calculation result, exactly. The match is case-sensitive, so "1-3 years" does not match "1-3 Years".
• An assessment-level row is missing. Every Benchmark Answer needs its own row where Section, SubSection and Theme are blank.
• The wrong rating was selected. Upload the file against the rating your chart reports on. Most charts use Base. If your chart uses RatingType=, upload against that rating.
• The classifier is linked in the wrong place. A classifier that benchmarks each answer must be linked to the question or calculation only. A classifier that benchmarks the entire assessment must be linked in Assessment Settings > General > Additional Benchmark only.
• The merge string uses the wrong classifier number. BM1= must be the Classifier No of the seeded classifier.
