A report can be previewed by uploading the Word template to the assessment and generating a report against a test response. The downloaded report shows exactly what a real respondent would receive.

Upload the report template to the assessment.
- From the Merge Manager: open the Document tab and click Upload to Brilliant Assessments.
- Alternatively, navigate to Assessment Settings > Feedback tab, and use Add a Report or Edit to upload the template.

Use a test response, or create one.
- Each assessment includes a built-in Test Response that can be used.
- To create a fresh test response, navigate to the Responses screen, click Add Response, and complete the assessment as a test respondent.

Download the report from the Response List.
- Open the Responses screen for the assessment.
- Locate the test response.
- Click the View dropdown next to the response.
- Select the relevant PDF or Word report to download.
Review the downloaded report and adjust the Word template as needed. Re-upload the updated template and re-download the report. This process can be repeated as often as required.
When reviewing a test report, check the following:
- Fonts. Confirm that fonts are consistent throughout the report.
- Layout. Confirm that charts and text appear in the intended positions.
- Merge strings. Confirm that each merge string is producing the expected output and not appearing blank.
- Image sizing. Confirm that images are appropriately sized so that file size remains reasonable.
