By default, your assessment URLs use a subdomain of brilliantassessments.com (for example, https://yoursite.brilliantassessments.com). You can replace this with a subdomain of your own domain so respondent links, response pages, and emails all reference your brand.
To set this up:
-
Create a DNS A record for the subdomain you want to use, pointing to
35.182.221.237. For example:Type: A Host: assess Value: 35.182.221.237 TTL: Default or 300
The host can be anything you like (assess, survey, portal, etc.). The final URL will becomehttps://[host].[yourdomain].com. The record must be an A record. A CNAME will not work. - Email Support@brilliantassessments.com to advise that the DNS record is in place and confirm the new domain.
- Wait for the cutover. The Brilliant Assessments team completes the switch outside business hours, usually within 24 hours. There is no charge for this service on paid plans.
Important: Once the domain changeover is complete, all existing assessment links will break, including links in already-sent invitation emails. For this reason it is best to make the change shortly after moving to a paid subscription, before a large number of invitations are in circulation. After the change, any respondent who was invited before the switch needs a new invitation link.
You will also need to re-add any images in email templates and question instructions that were uploaded before the change, since their URLs still reference the old domain.
