You can create a Histogram in your cohort report to show the distribution of results.
There are two steps.
1. Set up the ratings for your histogram: First, create a Rating Type (using Advanced Ratings) and then add a rating for each score range you wish to show in your graph. The name of each Rating will show on the Axis. To calculate the Max Score percentage for a rating, you simply divide the upper limit of the score range by the maximum overall score (in this case we are scoring as percentages so it is simple).
2. In your Cohort Report template make these selections in the Merge Manager:
- Merge Type: Multi Bar Chart
- Show: (chose the element's level and the elements you wish to show)
- Display: Count
- Rating Type: (The name you used for the Rating Type you used in point 1.)
The following are selected from Options, then the entry selected:
- Cohort Splits: Group by Rating
- Invert: Invert the Chart
- Legend Rules: None
- Eliminate Gap: No gap between bars.
- Show Y Axis: None (in the example the count on the Y-Axis but you can show it.
- ShowAveragePoint: Place a red dot on Average Point. If selected the system will calculate the rating of the average score and place a red dot at the base of the bar for that rating. The legend (if shown) will be "Average".
- Other options like Height, Width, Labels, Chart Colors can all be used.
The above example is in a table cell that has shading on it.
