Segmentations are site-wide and are created in the Segmentations function. This screen allows you to view and manage segmentations linked to your assessment, including their rating text and linked questions or answers.
Segmentations can be linked to questions or answers in either the Questions dialogue or in this function. A segmentation cannot be linked to both questions and answers, but you can have a mix among different segmentations.
On this page

| 5 | Segmentation List | List of segmentations (by default only those linked to this assessment), showing the number of questions or answers they are linked to. |
| 6 | Options | Opens the Options dialogue to manage rating text and linked questions or answers. |
2. Segmentation Options Screen - Rating Tab
| # | Element | Description |
| 1 | Segmentation Name, Number, and Group | These fields are set in the Segmentations function. |
| 2 | Rating Type | Only appears if Advanced Ratings is enabled. You can maintain rating text for any of the Rating Types you have defined. |
| 3 | Rating | A separate tab is available for each rating you have specified (for the selected Rating Type, if applicable). Text is held separately for each rating. |
| 4 | Questions or Answers | Click to switch to the Questions or Answers tab (documented below). |
| 5 | Rating Text | Up to 5 rating texts can be entered for each rating. Separate texts are often used in different parts of reports or on separate reports. This field is only available if "Show Alternate Report Texts" is selected in the Settings form. |
| 6 | Save Rating Text | If you are changing multiple texts, save each one before moving to the next. Otherwise, changes will be lost. |
| 7-8 | Text Editor Toolbar | Standard formatting tools (bold, italic, underline, alignment, lists, links, images, tables, HTML view, and clear formatting). |
| 9 | Merge Fields | Used for Question and Answer Piping. Select the answer text or report text type, choose the question, then click Add to insert the merge string at the cursor location. |
| 10 | Text | Enter the text to be shown on the report if this rating is attained. |
Tip:
- If you copy and paste text from Word or another application, always use the Clear Formatting button in the toolbar first, then reformat within the text editor. Copied text often contains hidden formatting that can cause display issues.
- The initial formatting of rating text in your report is determined by the merge string's formatting in the Word template. Formatting applied here in the text editor will override that.
3. Segmentation Options Screen - Questions or Answers Tab
This tab shows the questions or answers linked to the segmentation. If the segmentation is linked to answers, answers will be shown here instead.
| # | Element | Description |
| 1 | Segmentation Name, Number, and Group | These fields are set in the Segmentations function. |
| 2 | Rating Type | Only appears if Advanced Ratings is enabled. You can maintain rating text for any of the Rating Types you have defined. |
| 3 | Rating | Click on a rating tab to return to the rating text view. |
| 4 | Questions or Answers | The tab shown depends on whether the segmentation is linked to questions or answers. If the segmentation has no links yet, both tabs are available. Once a link is created, only the linked type remains available. |
| 5 | Linked Questions or Answers | List of currently linked questions or answers. Use the Remove link to unlink a question from the segmentation. Both the segmentation and question remain intact - only the link is removed. |
| 6 | Add Questions or Answers | Select the Section, Subsection, and Question, then click Add to link it to this segmentation. |
