Dynamic Cohorts allows administrators to manage and update cohort respondents after a cohort has been created. This provides flexibility when working with cohorts and makes it easier to correct setup issues without needing to recreate cohorts or responses.
When Dynamic Cohorts is enabled, existing responses can be added to or removed from cohorts after initiation. A single response can also be linked to more than one cohort at the same time.
What Dynamic Cohorts Allow You to Do
With Dynamic Cohorts enabled, administrators can:
Add existing responses to a cohort
Remove responses from a cohort without deleting the response
Link a single response to multiple cohorts
Correct cohort setup errors after initiation
Manage cohort responses across multiple iterations
This functionality is especially useful when cohort responses change over time or when errors occur during the initial cohort creation process.
Enable Dynamic Cohorts
Dynamic Cohorts must be enabled at a site level before it can be used.
Go to Site Settings > General Tab
Enable Dynamic Cohorts by ticking.
Once enabled, the additional dynamic cohorts options become available on the cohort Respondents tab when in a cohort.
Add Responses to a Cohort
After Dynamic Cohorts is enabled, responses can be linked to a cohort from the Respondents tab in the Cohorts settings.
-
Open the cohort>Go to the Respondents tab> Select Link Response(s) to take you to the Response Pick list.
-
Search for the response you want to add
-
select the responses by checking the box.
-
Press Link Response(s)
Linking a response does not create a new response record. It only links an existing response to the selected cohort.
Remove Responses from a Cohort
Responses can be removed from a cohort at any time.
Open the cohort.
Go to the Respondents tab.
Use the Action menu next to the response.
Select Remove from Cohort.
Removing a response only removes the association between the response and the cohort. The response remains available in the system and can still be linked to other cohorts.
