This article covers how to ensure your feedback report fonts display correctly for all respondents, including embedding custom fonts and choosing websafe alternatives.
Not all computers have the same fonts available, and not all browsers support all fonts, so it's important to consider this when building a feedback report. If a template uses a font that your respondent's computer or browser doesn't support, it will substitute the font automatically when producing the PDF. To prevent unwanted font substitutions, you can embed a font into your PDF or use a websafe font.

Embedding Custom Fonts
Upload Your Font in Site Settings
- Go to Site Settings > Fonts > Add Font.
- Fonts can be uploaded as a single font file or a zipped font pack. Supported formats:
.zip,.ttf,.otf,.TTC,.pfb,.pfm - You can get free font files online such as Google Fonts.
Enable Font Embedding in Assessment Settings
- Navigate to Assessment Settings > Options.
- Check the Embed Fonts in PDF option.
- Select your preferred font from the dropdown list and save.
(Advanced) Embedding Fonts at the Template Level
If you are using a custom template (not one of the starter templates), you may also want to embed the font at the template level.

Websafe Fonts
Websafe fonts are widely supported across computers and browsers, making them a reliable choice if you prefer not to embed fonts.
Websafe fonts we recommend:
- Arial (sans-serif) - in our experience, this is the safest font!
- Verdana (sans-serif)
- Helvetica (sans-serif)
- Tahoma (sans-serif)
- Trebuchet MS (sans-serif)
- Times New Roman (serif)
- Georgia (serif)
- Garamond (serif)
- Courier New (monospace)
- Brush Script MT (cursive)
All Fonts Supported on the Brilliant Assessments Server
The following fonts are installed on the Brilliant Assessments server and will render correctly in your feedback reports without embedding.
