If you wish to charge respondents to take your assessments, you have to establish an account at Stripe.com and integrate it with your Brilliant Assessment site.
Go to Stripe.com
When you have access to your Stripe dashboard, locate the API Keys as shown below.
- In the Stripe.com dashboard, expand the Developers section.
- Click the API keys menu item.
- Copy the Publishable Key and Secret Key.
Go to Brilliant Assessment Settings
In your Brilliant Assessment site > Site Settings > Stripe & API. Refer to Stripe & API for more details.
- Paste the Publishable key into the Site Settings screen > Stripe Public Key Field.
- Paste the Secret key into the Site Settings screen > Stripe Private Key Field.
- Click Save on the Site Settings form.
They will be held in the system encrypted and will appear blank when you access the Site Settings screen again. You only have to enter them when you wish to change them.
Top Tips:
- If you want to test the Credit Card Integration without being charged, click the "View test data" switch on the top right of the Stripe Screen above. Then, copy the keys similarly to above - but all the charges will be in test mode only. You use specified credit cards to test with, for example:
- use a card number of 4242 4242 4242 4242.
- Use a valid future date, such as the expiry date.
- Use any three-digit CVC.
- Use any value you like for other form fields.
- Remember to change the Stripe Settings to the production keys (i.e., not test data) before going live. You will get an error if you use a real card number in test mode or a test card number in production.
- If you are experiencing any issues with payments being processed even when the CVC field has been left blank, please see the following article from Stripe - Rules | Stripe Documentation, scroll down to the heading 'Traditional card checks' and read the instructions on updating your Stripe dashboard settings.
